I Keep Forgiving You

We burn bridges because others have treated us wrong, and we don’t want anything more to do with them. We don’t want to forgive them . . . again.

We’re tired of the same old sob story, so we cut them loose, don’t forgive them, and don’t have to worry about forgiving that person again. To top it off, we don’t care how many times the Bible say we are to forgive.

Face it, if you don’t forgive, God will not forgive you.

Matthew 18:21-22 (KJV) – then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven.

Matthew 6:15 (KJV) – but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

  1. Thanks so much for writing this ! This is an essential message, that often, as Christians, we forget.
We need to ask God for the ability to forgive others, and he readily supplies us with the ability, once he realizes that we are really sincere.
As we mature in our faith, he often sends things into our lives that are impossible, in our own strength , to forgive, but he empowers us to do this.
Unbelievers are watching us, to see if our walk with the Lord is consistent.
Let us ask for the grace to forgive, and to keep on forgiving. 🤗
