We ask God to give to us, yet we don’t want to give to others. We ask God for blessings, yet we curse others. We don’t want to do what God ask, we just want him to give us what we ask for.

Luke 11: 11-13 (KJV) – if a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish will he for a fish give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

When we see opportunities to help someone, only to benefit ourselves, to get something back in return, we are saying; “I am my neighbor”. We’re only thinking about ourselves. This is not an act of kindness. We have eyes, but they only see inward.
