I Dare You

Believers. . .

You are salt, which changes the flavor. You are light, which takes away the darkness. You are in this world, but not of this world.

Dare to be different, to make a difference!

Matthew 5:13-14 (KJV) – ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

John 17:16 (KJV) – they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

They Were Meant To Disappoint You

God has a reason for everyone that has disappointed us.

God allows people to let us down, because most of the time, we make people our god by depending on them. God wants us to depend on Him.

Therefore, those you lean on, were meant to disappoint you, so that you may see God as your source.

Proverbs 3:6 (KJV) – in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I Peter 5:7 (KJV) – casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Three In One

Water. Ice. Steam – H2O. Three in one.

God. Jesus. The Holy Spirit – The Trinity. Three in one.

You. Jesus. The Word of God – Child of God. Three in one.

Know who God is. He knows you and He loves you.

John 15:5-7 (KJV) – I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified that ye bear much fruit, so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

I Get It

We have been given grace, mercy, and forgiveness for:

  • Lying
  • Stealing
  • Cheating
  • Murder
  • Gossip
  • Hurting others, and so much more

. . . and we continue to rebel against God.

Even if you don’t get it, confess to God what you have done. You have been redeemed. Ask for forgiveness. He will forgive you.

Daniel 9:9 (KJV) – to the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him.

Colossians 1:14 (KJV) – in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

I John 1:9 (KJV) – if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

That’s How I Feel

When we expect something to turn out one way, but it turned out another way, we allow it to move our emotions. When it affects our emotions to the point that it has manifested in us and changes our thinking, we are in our feelings, whether good or bad.

Most of us don’t know anything else except to walk in our feelings. We don’t know how not to walk in our feelings. This is not to say, having feelings is wrong, or you can’t have feelings.

  • See everything as coming from God. No matter what it is.
  • Honor God with your actions and your attitude.

This will allow you to not walk in your feelings so much. You will honor God, and begin to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. Your thinking will change. Your priority in who you please will change. And those things that once affected you, negatively, will not affect you as much, or not at all.

Walk in The Spirit!

Galatians 5:16, 25 (KJV) – this I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

I’m Afraid To

I’m afraid to do what God ask, because He will make me do something I don’t want to do. He will take away something or someone I don’t want to lose. I won’t have anymore fun, and my life will be boring.

How many of us have said or thought this at one time or another – or many times, for that matter?

Until we start reading God’s word, and get to know Him, we will keep being afraid to do what He ask, see who He is, and miss a multitude of blessings.

I was afraid to surrender to God. Scared to lose someone or something, and I “thought” my life was fun. But, I was lost.

Now, I’m found! My life is filled with joy! I have the peace of God! I truly enjoy my life, and the fun I have in it! Doors have opened for me, that I never would have imagined. And I receive more blessings than I can count!

I’m no longer afraid to! Thank you Jesus for loving me!

Psalm 56:3 (KJV) – what time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

II Timothy 1:7 (KJV) – for God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Wait For It

We are so impatient to wait for what we ask for from God. When we cut corners, manipulate the circumstances, take matters into our own hands, we miss God’s best.

Patience is a valuable quality. If you want the best bad enough, wait on God.

Psalm 27:14 (KJV) – wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

How Are You Known

Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are”, quoted by French lawyer, Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, in 1800’s. But we know the statement as; ‘you are what you eat’.

This goes so much further than what we physically put in our mouth. It also applies to; we are what we think, what we say, what we watch, and what we do.

Consider what you’re feeding yourself, whether it be the company you keep, what you read, watch on tv, and where you spend your time. Positive or negative, it will determine what you think, what you speak, what you watch and eventually, what you do.

Keep in mind; you are known by your fruit.

Proverbs 13:2 (KJV) – a man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth; but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

Matthew 12:33 (KJV) – either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Leave It Where It Is

Are you feeding your past, especially the negative, as though it’s going to change? Our past is our past, and it’s going to be what it is, for eternity.  There is nothing we can do about it.

Stop nurturing your past by thinking about it all the time. Stop trying to make your past change, because it’s not. It steals your joy and your peace.

Do something for your future, move forward and leave your past where it is.  Live in peace and joy, on purpose!

Philippians 3:13 (KJV) – brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.

John 14:27 (KJV) – peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
