  1. Often, when taking the Lord’s Supper, I remember the Lord’s prayer (or quotation of Psalm 22), when he said, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” The rest of Psalm 22.1 says: “Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?”

    Then as I eat the bread and drink the cup, I take his prayer and adapt for me, asking God, “My God, My God, why have I forsaken you? Why am I so far from you, And from the words of your mouth?

    The point being that, as you said, we have moved away from God and Jesus came looking for us and now we have returned to him.
