We are to live by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.
To know what that is, is to read it.
Matthew 4:4 (KJV) – but he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Get It or Get Got! 
That is one of my main jobs as a preacher, to get people to read the word of God regularly.
