When we go through struggles, they have a tendency of effecting our emotions. We have to either let the struggle massage our emotions by looking for pity, or see it as coming from God, and ask; what is he telling me through this struggle.
When the struggle we are going through is a familiar struggle, one that we’ve experienced more than once, and it is affecting our emotions, just as it did before, this is the time when we need strength to move forward in our lives. Saturating ourselves in pity will only allow us to feel sorry for ourselves, and the sorrow we receive from others, makes us more dependent on others, and the weaker we become.
It’s time to stop walking in our feelings, but to look at the struggle in a new light. It’s time to grow and not look for pity or sympathy, but look for strength, and confidence and power. Nothing and no one can make you feel the way you feel, except you.
Whatever the struggle, know that it is temporary. It will only last as long as you let it. Either you will handle the struggle, or you will let it handle you.
Be strong! Be courageous!
Joshua 1:9 (KJV) – have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
